Giveaway: Amy’s Organics, Sahale Snacks and Musco Family Olives

by Wendy Copley on August 15, 2012

OK, gang! Let’s break up this back-to-school lunch box festival by giving away some stuff to put in those lunch boxes! I’ve got a great round up of some delicious foods that would be wonderful packed into a lunch for yourself or your kids.

Sahale Snacks

First up: Sahale Crunchers by Sahale Snacks! These come in three flavors:

  • Cranberries, sesame seeds and honey
  • Cherries, apples and maple
  • Parmesan cheese and herbs

We’ve been enjoying these for the last few weeks, but honestly the only reason they’ve lasted that long is through sheer will power on my part. These are so good that once I opened the first pack I had to put them away on a high shelf to keep from eating them all at once. They’re great for snacking on, but the sweet ones were also delicious sprinkled on yogurt or as a topping on a bowl of vanilla ice cream. I also tried the savory Parmesan flavored nuts on a salad dressed with green goddess dressing and it was super.

Sahale Crunchers are made with unsulfured fruits and they are certified gluten-free and Kosher.

Musco Family Olives

Next we have this box of olives, along with some napkins, a can opener and some cute picks from the Musco Family Olive Co. (Hello! Spear some olives with one of those decorative picks and throw them in a bento box!)

I love olives and the Musco Family olives that I sampled are delicious. We enjoyed them straight out of the jar and also cooked in one of my favorite recipes, Chicken with Tomatoes and Olives.

I’d be happy to recommend these olives based on their quality and flavor alone, but I also feel compelled to share the Musco Family’s commitment to environmental issues with you as well. Through innovative programs the company has reduced their salt by-products from olive processing at their plant by 80% and has turned 8 billion olive pits — previously treated as a waste product — into fuel for their steam powered factory. It’s worth a few minutes of your time to read about all of their environmental programs (or watch their short film if that’s easier).

Finally, I’m pleased to offer up three coupons for free products from Amy’s Kitchen. Amy’s Kitchen makes organic  soups, entrees and pizzas along with many other vegetarian foods. Zach and I have long been fans of their frozen entrees for quick lunches and the kids love Amy’s burritos and pizzas as much as we do. I occasionally like to include a leftover slice of Amy’s pizza in the boys’ lunches and I think the snacks (which I just learned about) would go over well, too.

In addition to all of their products being vegetarian, Amy’s also has a number of vegan and gluten-free products.

One Wendolonia reader can win all of the products I’ve described here! Woo hoo!
