When the folks from Steeltainer contacted me about hosting a giveaway earlier this week I immediately said yes. Though I haven’t tried these lunch boxes myself (yet!) I have been hearing good things about them for a few months and I was thrilled to be able to offer the opportunity to win two of these lunch boxes to one lucky Wendolonia reader.
The Steeltainer is unlike any bento box I’ve seen before. A removable stainless steel inner tray sits inside an outer plastic box that is BPA & phthalate free. This set-up offers the best of both worlds: the inner container provides the durability of stainless steel, while the outer box allows the container to use a locking plastic lid that is easy for little hands to open. They are also leak-proof and can be used to pack wet foods like stews, casseroles, yogurt or applesauce.
The first box being offered as part of this giveaway is the Deluxe Sandwich and Salad Container in white. This box has a 20 oz. capacity so it’s nicely sized for a hearty bento lunch. It’s also big enough to hold a full-sized sandwich with a little room leftover for fruits or veggies. It works well for salads too.
The second item offered as part of this giveaway is a white Compact Snack Container. This box is sized for snacks (as you’ve probably gathered from it’s name) and comes with an adjustable stainless steel divider. You can also remove the divider to accommodate larger items.

I have to choose? I guess the divided one would offer more versatility with young kids. My son is 3 and packs a small lunch to mothers day out, but they don’t usually eat a lot, so this would be great for that purpose.
I really like the Delux Sandwich container. It could work for my daughter or my hubby which is perfect!
Wow! These are exactly what I’ve been looking for! I’d love to win the Deluxe Sandwich and Salad Container! Wish they were sold on the East Coast (may need to ask my sister in Toronto to pick some up for my three daughters!)… I may even approach some local retailers. They look great!

The sandwich container would be perfect for my daughter’s backpack this year. Since it locks tight I wouldn’t have to worry about her lunch falling out and getting all over her school work.

I would really love the larger of the 2 containers. I’ve been a recylcling freak for years so I’m trying to extend our recycling endeavors to outside the home and this would be perfect! I’ve been also trying to teach my young children about taking their school lunches in reusable things instead of making more waste. Gotta start them young!
The snack container would be perfect for my 4 year old’s lunch. He likes to have a variety of fruits in his lunch but he doesn’t like for them to touch. This container would be easier than all the mini containers I use.
I think I would most use the sandwich/salad one. Although I could use all of them, I think the sandwich/salad version would be easy to make ahead lunches for my whole family and stack them in the fridge.
The Compact Snack Container appeals to me the most, although both are great! Being a recent college graduate (and living off of sandwiches for lunch for years!) and working three jobs, I’m looking for nifty ways to keep me interested in what food I bring to work, so I won’t go binge at a vending machine! My daily apple snack always leaks with the lemon juice I put on it in a regular Tupperware container, but with the Snack Container, the leak proof seal sounds great, and I could blop in some peanut butter in the side compartment for dipping!

I like the round Steeltainer. I generallly eat salads for lunch and love the sleek design.
