Welcome to the week in bentos! I’m still trying out our new lunch boxes and seeing what they can do. Read on to see what I’ve been up to with them:
Monday
Monday I kept Wyatt home from camp because I missed him after my long weekend away, so no packed lunch.
Tuesday
Tuesday morning the boys got into a big fight over who got to take his lunch in the PlanetBox. Yes — dozens of lunch boxes to choose from and they both want the same one. My life is so weird sometimes. I ended up using it to pack Augie’s lunch because he asked first and he hadn’t had a lunch in it yet. I gave him applesauce, goldfish crackers, blueberries, a turkey and soy cheese sandwich cut into a heart shape, grapes, cucumber slices and a few chocolate chips.
Wyatt had to settle for the Laptop Lunch box. He had a little chocolate treat, grapes, goldfish crackers, blueberries, applesauce and a turkey sandwich.
Wednesday
Wednesday Augie had a peanut butter and apple butter sandwich, goldfish crackers, grapes, snap peas, carrots and pretzels. This was packed into the LunchBots Trio.
It was Wyatt’s turn to use the PlanetBox and he packed and photographed his lunch himself. He had carrot sticks (he peeled it himself, but I helped cut it up), pretzels, an apple butter sandwich, grapes and a wedge of Laughing Cow cheese. I think he did a great job!
Thursday
Thursday, Augie’s lunch was packed in the Yubo Lunchbox: applesauce, pretzels, teriyaki baked tofu that I cut with cookie cutters and decorated with food markers
, carrot sticks and cucumber slices.
This is what his lunchbox looked like at the end of the day. He ate the pretzels and the carrots for a snack when he got home.
Wyatt’s lunch was exactly the same except I added some salad dressing for dipping the carrots and I left the cukes out.
Friday
Today Augie requested the Lego bento box. I filled it with strawberries, mandarin orange wedges, grapes, licorice scotty dog, croutons, crackers, cheese flowers and some smoked turkey roll-ups.
Wyatt had raisins, croutons, strawberries, crackers, cheese, turkey, orange wedges and a licorice dog.
