The Week in Bentos: October 24-28, 2011

by Wendy Copley on October 28, 2011

Only a few days left before Halloween and my kids are super excited. I was half-hearted about continuing the Halloween themes in the lunch boxes this week but you’ll see a few ideas down below.

Monday

2nd Grade Bento #501

On Monday, Wyatt took his lunch to school in an Easy Lunchbox: pretzel thins, a jack-o-lantern cookie, canned peaches that I drained and rinsed and topped with chocolate sprinkles, and a turkey and mayo jack-o-lantern sandwich.

Tuesday

Preschool Bento #169

On Tuesday, Augie had some garden tomatoes, baked tofu with car-shaped cut-outs, figs from our tree and pretzel thins.

2nd Grade Bento #502

Wyatt had a jack-o-lantern cookie, pretzel thins, peaches with rainbow sprinkles, raisins and baked tofu. This lunch was packed in the Laptop Lunch Box.

Wednesday

Preschool Bento #170

On Wednesday, Augie had strawberries (we’re still getting fantastic strawberries at our farmers’ market!), grapes, a mini PB&J Millenneum Falcon sandwich, deli turkey and a few pretzel thins. This was packed in a box that kind of a cross between this one and this one.

Big Kid Bento #503

Wyatt’s lunch was pretty similar: pretzel thins, jelly X-wing fighter and Death Star sandwiches, deli turkey roll-ups and strawberries.

Thursday

Preschool Bento #171

Augie’s lunch was packed in a hinged lid box on Thursday. He had a blueberry cereal bar, garlic naan cut to look like little dudes, deli turkey and strawberries.

Wyatt had school lunch.

Friday

Preschool Bento #172

On Friday, Augie had leftover green beans and pork tenderloin chunks with cranberry-fig chutney from dinner the night before. I finished his lunch off with a mix of Cheerios and raisins and some strawberries.

Second Grade Bento #504

Waytt’s lunch had a couple of pumpkin cookies, strips of garlic naan, Cheerios and raisins, strawberries, grapes and baked tofu.
