Family Bentos!
October 13th, 2008 @ 7:42 am

We visited a historic farm yesterday and took a picnic with us. I made bentos for all of us for the first time. It’s been a really long time since I made a bento box for an adult which is weird to me since I started out making bentos for myself.

Preschooler Bento #84: October 12, 2008

Here is Wyatt’s bento. He had grapes, mini blueberry muffins, a chicken gruyere sausage and some apple chunks dipped in pineapple juice to prevent browning.

Bento #39: October 12, 2008

This was my bento. I’ve just re-started Weight Watchers post-baby, so mine was packed with 0 point veggies. The sausage was 5 points and the apples were another point for a total of 6 points.

Bento #38: October 12, 2008

Zach’s bento had two of the same sausages, some cubes of Monterey Jack cheese, veggies and apples.

We all agreed that this was a great way to do a picnic lunch. They were easier to eat than a big box of stuff dumped together, we didn’t over eat and we didn’t throw anything away.

May Daily #24: Don’t eat these.

May 24, 2008: Don't eat these

Our new veggie box doesn’t give us a “no” option on any vegetables, so we have to take what we get. Yesterday’s box came with these big, fat, disgusting onions and last night before he went to bed Zach left me a note warning me not to eat them.

Good thing I saw the sign before I made that raw onion relish I was planning to put on our french toast.

May 22, 2008: Happy Birthday, Zach!

For Zach’s birthday, we went over to the Cerrito Theater for pizza, buffalo wings and nachos with Erin and Bryan. Afterwards we all came back to our house and had cupcakes with Grandpops and Wyatt.

May 4, 2008: Robot Construction

Zach and Wyatt, constructing the robot we acquired at the Maker Faire. The instructions were written all in Japanese and it took Zach about 5 hours to put it all together.

Zach made a video of it in action which you can see here: flickr.com/photos/zcopley/2467187836/

Two Minute Paper Wallet
July 7th, 2007 @ 9:35 pm

Zach’s wallet disintegrated a few weeks ago, so I decided to make him a Two Minute Paper Wallet to hold him until he could get a real one. I made it bad ass by using this skull paper.

Wallet 1

Wallet 2

He says it’s working out pretty well so far.

Guitar Player
March 29th, 2007 @ 7:20 pm

Guitar Player, originally uploaded by Wendy Copley.

Zach took Wyatt over to Tom and Dee’s house for a visit tonight, so I had a chance to get some scrapbooking done. I made this page about Zach and his beloved guitar, Sunny. Journaling reads:

Zach and I had been together for more than five years (married for a few months) the first time I heard him play the guitar. I sort of knew he could play — he’d mentioned lessons a few times in the past — but I didn’t have a clue how good he was. He didn’t really start playing again until Wyatt was born. Since that time, he’s become a lot more serious about his playing, taking regular lessons, learning new songs and acquiring his beloved Martin, Sunny. I love hearing him play. It fills our home with warmth and music and make me content. But mostly I love how happy it makes my man.
