Project 365 2012: Week 5

One month into this project and I have to confess that I’m a little less enthused about it. How have I determined that? This is the first week that I didn’t jump to put my layout together on Sunday afternoon. Yes, I waited one full day to start on it. Shocking, isn’t it?

I took a more low-key approach this time — fewer photos, less Photoshop work, more handwriting. I still had more photos than I had room for, but I made the choice to tell fewer stories and I’m OK with that.

Sunday was a big day for Zach and me because we went out to see a show in San Francisco! I included a photo of the performers on stage and taped the ticket stub onto some of the dead space in the photo. Monday’s photo illustrates a story about how Augie and I played together over breakfast. For Tuesday, I had a photo of the sunset as the boys and I walked home from a play date. That photo — like most of the photos I used this week — is a phone photo and I can’t believe it came out so well. I also included a picture from dinner with Wyatt, my niece and my sister-in-law. I rounded out the page with a screen shot of the weather app on my phone showing how lovely the weather was this week.

Wednesday I included a picture of the pretty eggs my sister-in-law gave us from her backyard chickens. It’s a little hard to tell in the picture above, but the eggs were brown and turquoise. They were also super delicious! I also have a top-down photo of the boys working on an art project. I love me some top-down photos. Thursday’s photo is one I took with Instagram. No washing your feet in the sink at the library! The last two photos illustrate how cub scouts took over our family’s entire weekend — the Blue and Gold banquet on Friday and an overnight on a submarine on Saturday.

How was your week?

  • An overnight on a submarine! FUN!

I just barely finished my cover page for my Project Life album….I’m hoping to sit down today and get the first couple weeks done. We’ll see!  We did just buy a new printer last night so that will help with printing out fun quotes and different sizes of my photos instead of relying on prints from shutterfly.

Just realized we might kinda be neighbors! Been following your blog here in El Cerrito for about 6 months now! Small world! Love all your lunch box ideas and creative ideas!

  • I still haven’t done my title page yet. I’m paralyzed by the options available to me. 🙂 Printing at home has made all the difference for me this time around. I highly recommend it.
