Take a walk into ancient history via this post featuring last week’s lunches!
I normally try to get my weekly bento posts up on Friday or Saturday at the latest, but this one has taken me forever. A combination of a spirited, nap-striking toddler, a sick big kid and general post-move laziness worked together as a powerful blogging demotivator over the past few days. But I did finally get my booty in gear to upload photos and type up descriptions.
On Monday, Wyatt’s lunch required a pantry raid: pretzle nuggets, the broken bits at the bottom of the box of chili lime crackers that I received at the Fresh & Easy launch party, an applesauce cup, a hard boiled egg with a face drawn on it with food-safe markers, carrot sticks and baked teriyaki tofu.
On Tuesday, Augie’s lunch for day care was “goop” — a family favorite of hamburger gravy with peas and carrots mixed in. I packed it over a layer of rice which you can just see peaking out at the top left there. Grapes and leftover steamed broccoli rounded out his meal.
Wyatt’s lunch was: Pirate’s booty, turkey Star Wars sandwiches, grapes, and a mixture of raisins and pretzel nuggets. This was packed in an Easy Lunchbox.
Augie’s lunch on Wednesday was packed in his favorite panda bear bento box. The top layer had homemade chicken noodle soup in it. The bottom layer had lots of broccoli and some blueberries.
Wyatt’s lunch on Wednesday was packed in the Laptop Lunch Box. It held grapes a jelly sandwich cut into a cat shape, a super special brownie treat, blueberries, more grapes and baked teriyaki tofu.
School lunch day!
We all over slept so it was another school lunch day!
