Wendolonia’s 2010 Greatest Hits

by Wendy Copley on January 3, 2011

As I’ve been traveling around the internets these past few days, I’ve noticed quite a few people showcasing their most popular blog posts of 2010. It got me wondering which posts on Wendolonia have seen the most visitors this year, so delved into my analytics software and came up with a list of the 10 most popular posts on the site. The results surprised me a little!

10. The Week in Bentos: January 4-8, 2010

Kindergarten Bento #277: January 7, 2010

This was the only “Week in Bentos” post to crack the top ten, but I have to say that it featured my favorite bento of the year (the one pictured above).

9. Back to School, Back to Lunch: Sandwich Adventures

Preschooler Bento #34: June 26, 2008

This round-up of ideas to jazz up sandwiches came in at number 9.

8. Confessions of a Stay At Home Mom

Reality

This was my favorite post of the year and it really struck a nerve with my lovely readers as well. It also generated a lot of helpful comments too, for which I am very grateful.

7. Back to School, Back to Lunch: Cool Lunch-packing Gear

I was a little surprised to see this post so high up in the list, but it did feature my beloved Star Wars cookie cutters so I guess I can see why other people liked it too.

6. “I Tried Something New” Printable Stickers

I tried something new

I created these printable stickers in response to something Jamie Oliver tried with school kids on his Food Revolution TV show We’re still using them at our house!

5. Tie Dye Window Decorations

A quick and easy craft to brighten up the dark days of winter. You probably have all the materials you need to make them on hand!

4. Actually Easy Lemon Ginger Marmalade

Lemon Ginger Marmalade

This was my favorite preservation project of the year and I’m really looking forward to making it again in the next few weeks!

3. Crisp In a Jar

Crisp in a Jar

Another jar-based food! I’ve been making these all year long and we’ve got some apple and peach crisps in our freezer right now that I would like to be eating right now. Yum!

2. Back to School, Back to Lunch: Lunch Box Ideas

Preschooler Bento #85: October 14, 2008

A perennial favorite on Wendolonia, I refreshed my lunch box ideas list (with suggestions from you!) and made a printable download to make it easy to post on a refrigerator.

1. Printable Marmalade Canning Labels

Honestly, I was pretty surprised to see that this post was the #1 most visited post on my blog. Who knew that so many people need marmalade labels? Not me!

Did you have a favorite post this year? Is there something you’re hoping to see here in 2011? I’d love to hear about it in the comments!

Can’t believe the Week in Bentos weren’t better represented! Although I like all of your posts – they are my fave, look forward to each Friday’s posting! I’d like to see more recipes of all this great kid friendly food!

Wendy I love your blog. I would love more Craft and Cooking tutorials, like the Watergate Cake and the Better Than Sex Cake, I love seeing how you make cakes. Oh, and I hope you’ll do another project365 🙂

  • I was a little surprised too, but when I thought about it a bit, it made sense. I don’t see a lot of sustained traffic on most of those posts, so I think most people read them right after they go up and then that’s it. If I look at all of the bento posts combined though, that’s where most of the visitors to my site are headed.

  • I’m actually planning to take a break from the Project 365 this year. I’m firmly in the habit of taking photos most days though so I think I’ll still do it in a sense, but you won’t see the regular posts here this year.

  • Boo! Hiss!! No Project 365? 🙁
I really feel like I’ve gotten to know Wyatt and Augie through the weekly P365 posts! So sad to not have them anymore!
I think it was your bentos that first brought me to your blog (I’m guessing, I don’t really remember how I first found you!), but it was Project 365 and your craft and cooking posts that kept me coming back over and over… not to creep you out or anything, but it was like 2 years ago that I decided I wanted us to be friends and I steadfastly stalked you ever since. So glad I succeeded. Bwah ha ha ha!

  • I’m glad you succeeded too!
