Hey there! Would you be willing to vote for my Raspberry Carrot Raisin Slaw in the Let’s re-Do Lunch Contest? I’d think you were swell if you did!
Hooray! Clementines are back in the stores! In the interim between berry season and clementine season I’ve had to scramble a bit to find nice fruit for the kids’ lunch boxes. Wyatt has completely rejected bananas in his lunch box and apples are a bit of a challenge too. Clementines are our reliable winter standby.
Anywho, this was Wyatt’s lunch for Monday: clementines, applesauce and a thermos full of pasta. This was packed in the OOTS Lunchbox.
The two-year-old’s lunch had an onigiri rice ball (pulled from the freezer), clementines, leftover hoisin chicken from dinner and sesame green beans, also from dinner. He didn’t eat either the chicken or the green beans which is interesting because he liked both at dinner and also because I can count on one hand the number of times his lunch box hasn’t come home completely empty.
My 1st grader’s lunch had apples (soaked in a little water and lemon juice to prevent browning), pretzel thins and a Laughing Cow cheese wedge, clementine wedges, and turkey and cheese Star Wars sandwiches. This was packed in a Laptop Lunch Box.
On Wednesday, Augie’s lunch was clementines, another onigiri, soycatash and leftover chicken from dinner. We had a lot of chicken this week.
Wyatt chose to have school lunch this day. The entree was cheesy bread.
I packed him a snack too because he was going to his after school program: homemade applesauce and pretzel thins with Laughing Cow cheese. He didn’t even touch his snack.
We woke up late and I hadn’t packed lunch the night before, so Wyatt had school lunch again. It was super nutritious:
- French bread pizza
- Baked Doritos
- Chocolate milk
- Animal “kookies”
I didn’t pack a snack because he told me he wouldn’t eat it and I believed him.
Today’s super star 1st grader lunch had garlic naan and catsup sandwiches cut into star shapes, baked teriyaki tofu, grapes, clementine wedges and a fruit leather star to finish off the star theme. This lunch was packed in the Easy Lunch Box.
