Monday’s snack box had strawberries and these weird little guys that Wyatt invented. They are ham chunks on pretzel sticks. He described them to me in detail last week, so I bought the stuff for them when I went to the store. He calls them, “meat lollipops” but I prefer to think of them as “ham-mers” because it makes me laugh.
Not that “meat lollipops” isn’t funny too…
Augie was back in fighting shape this week, so he was back to day care. This lunch had leftover green beans, a purchased onigiri rice ball, chunks of London Broil (also leftover from dinner the night before, grapes and blueberries.
Wyatt’s snack had ham cubes, a box of raisins, and graham cracker pieces. The kids are suddenly completely crazy for these little boxes of raisins. Augie will carry one around for two hours eating one raisin at a time, savoring each and every one.
The toddler lunch had star-shaped rice balls, chopped chicken thigh (leftover from dinner), frozen corn and strawberries.
This was the first time ever — since Augie started going to daycare — that any food came home in his lunch box. His babysitter told me she was surprised because he always eats everything and he ate almost nothing at this meal. He must have been hungry by the time he got home though because he ate 4ths at dinner that night.
Blueberries and ham-mers! Wooo!
I forgot to take a picture of Thursday’s day camp snack! I sent a cup of yogurt (Wyatt’s request), some pretzels and some grapes.
Today’s snack box featured apple-flavored mini rice cakes, strawberries and some deli turkey. I’ve been having problems with my deli turkey breaking apart lately, so instead of rolling it up like I usually do I had to just kind of wad it up in a ball and stuff it in the box.
