Hey, since you're liking Twilight and I know you also enjoyed the Sookie Stackhouse books, you might like the Mercy Thompson series by Patricia Briggs -- they're about a car mechanic who can turn into a coyote, and her flirtations with the local werewolf pack. Silly but fun (although unfortunately they take a turn for the angsty in the later books). The first one is "Moon Called" and I found it highly enjoyable.

I've also been enjoying Jim Butcher's Harry Dresden series, about a hardboiled PI in Chicago who also happens to be a practicing wizard. The first book in that series is Storm Front.

I agree with you Twilight comment. I also found the majority of the first book to be slow, then was engrossed, and midway through the last book I was so sick of it I couldn't wait for it to end but needed to read it through anyway.
I sooooo don't understand some people rereading the series over and over and over! Ack.

Anywho, my crockpot season began this week with Taco Chili. Yum!!
