Oh Susan -- I wish you all the best with lunch packing this year. That sounds like quite a challenge!

About the bananas, if you came in from the Crafty Crow, you probably saw the post where I sliced the bananas up for my son's lunch. That was the first and last time I did that because they turned brown and mushy. What I do instead is cut the banana in half and leave it in the peel. Sometimes I cut a slit in the peel to help my son peel it. The only browning that happens is on the cut end of the banana.

Hi! I found you from The Crafty Crow. I have a question about the bananas--how do you keep them from turning brown? My son is 6 & is doing a transitional class this year (pre-1 in some districts). With celiac disease and peanut & tree nut allergies, lunches are VERY interesting!
~Susan

Congrats on Wyatt finishing preschool and starting Kindergarten. My ds is starting K in 2 weeks. I will be perusing your blog for older posts for bento box lunch ideas. I'm going to miss reading your bento posts.

Our laptop lunches just arrived today and I can't wait to try them out. Thanks so much for the inspiration.
