July 30, 2009: Have I mentioned how much Augie likes the flash card reader? He really, really likes it. He saw me pull it out to upload some photos and cried until I gave it to him. When I finally did? Ecstasy!

July 31, 2009: I pulled out some of my Everyday Food magazines to find some new recipes to try and I ended up making these Southwestern Turkey Burgers for dinner. They looked like they’d be delicious and spicy, but they actually turned out kind of bland. Probably I won’t be making them again.

August 1, 2009: We drove down to San Jose to hang out with our friends Nancy and Pete for the afternoon. Nancy and I have been friends since we were in 2nd grade. That’s nigh on 30 years, folks! Of course, I totally forgot to take any pictures of them, but I did end up getting a photo of Wyatt sitting on their cool tractor seat chair.

August 2, 2009: It’s official — August is a clapper now! We’ve been working on teaching him to clap for a month or so now and he finally perfected his technique this week. Every time he claps, we all clap too and say, “Yaaaay!” which totally cracks him up. Our house has been filled with short bursts of applause ever since this started.

August 3, 2009: When we were at the craft store, Wyatt grabbed this foam guitar and started rocking out.

August 4, 2009: Every Tuesday after Augie gets up from his nap, the two of us head over to Trader Joe’s to buy groceries for the week. I like going to the store with Augie because he enjoys looking at all the people and the stuff on the shelves. Also, he never runs away and he doesn’t spend the whole trip begging for candy. Just sayin’…

August 5, 2009: Daddy and Augie came out to visit me on the porch as I finished up a craft project. Augie had just woken up from his nap, so he was still a little sleepy.
