May 21, 2008: Hot tea

Every night, I fix Wyatt a cup of warm milk to drink before bed. He calls it “hot tea” and it’s probably the most important ritual in his life.

    my mom and i used to drink warm or hot milk all the time, usually before bed but also quite frequently with breakfast (especially in the winter). this is still one of my favorite treats and some of my favorite memories are sharing it with my mother.

    It’s very soothing. We’ve considered trying to wean him off his dependency on his warm milk, but then I think, “Why would we take that away from him?” What am I — crazy mean mom??
