Zach took Wyatt over to Tom and Dee’s house for a visit tonight, so I had a chance to get some scrapbooking done. I made this page about Zach and his beloved guitar, Sunny. Journaling reads:
Zach and I had been together for more than five years (married for a few months) the first time I heard him play the guitar. I sort of knew he could play — he’d mentioned lessons a few times in the past — but I didn’t have a clue how good he was. He didn’t really start playing again until Wyatt was born. Since that time, he’s become a lot more serious about his playing, taking regular lessons, learning new songs and acquiring his beloved Martin, Sunny. I love hearing him play. It fills our home with warmth and music and make me content. But mostly I love how happy it makes my man.
I got some spam from Amazon about new spring toys or some such yesterday and right before I deleted it, one of the items caught my eye — a large-ish toy horse with a little girl sitting on it. It peaked my interest enough that I clicked the link and this is what I found:
Reading through the product feature list, I came across this gem:
Adults take note: Pony comes unassembled in box with head detatched. You may wish to not open the box around your children if they may be frightened by a box with a decapitated horse inside.**
That is quite possibly the funniest thing I’ve ever seen on Amazon.
* Apologies to anyone who thought this post was about the other, sexy, sexy Butterscotch Stallion.
** Dang. It looks like someone’s boss made them remove the line about the decapitated horse. Thankfully, it is saved here for future generations to enjoy.
I’ve been keeping a blog about Wyatt for two years now and for the most part I have something to say whenever I want to post. In that time, there have been many occasions when I wanted to write about something non-Wyatt related that I’m interested in but when I do, it kind of goes over like a lead balloon with my regular readers. I’ve been tossing around the idea of having a me-centric blog for awhile now and as you can see, I took the plunge a couple of weeks ago. But now that I’ve got my own space, I’ve found myself to be completely at a loss for interesting topics to write about. I think once I get my mojo going and get in the habit of writing more often, things will start rolling along, but until then I’ve decided to resort to blog memes and list-making. So without further ado, here are:

I came home yesterday and ate the rest of the Girl Scout cookies. (Stop judging me, Internet — there weren’t that many left.) So, that wasn’t a very good start to my week without sugar, but I decided to immediately hop back on the horse and I’ve done pretty well so far. Last night I had popcorn for a snack and this morning I’ve had two cups of tea with no sugar. Yay me!
